Project Overview

As a Digital Design and Development major at Creighton University, Josh studied both graphic design and computer science. In addition to taking some programming classes (Python, Java, PHP, Objective-C), Josh also took web design and web programming classes to gain a basic framework for what makes a good website.

At the Central High School Foundation, Josh was in charge of website maintenance and updates. The current Foundation website, built on the Joomla content management system, was created in 2011 before the surge of mobile web browsers and the need for intuitive menu systems that are touch-friendly. To address this problem, Josh worked to build a new website powered by WordPress that would be mobile-friendly, easier to navigate, allow for mobile payment processing, and better plugin support.

Having the technical skills to understand what goes on behind the scenes with code as well as understanding what good UI/UX design looks like is a unique skill that Josh has.
