Project Overview
As the Database Manager for the Central High School Foundation, Josh is in charge of the update, maintenance, and organization of a donor database featuring nearly 60,000 constituents and businesses. The database was created in 2005 but really hadn’t been cleaned until Josh was hired in November 2015.
Some of the large accomplishments Josh has made for the database include properly formatting emails, removing dead email addresses or disconnected phone numbers, cleaning tables that had outdated or never-used entries, properly marking deceased individuals, properly marking individuals with no valid mailing address as “lost,” and so much more. Just establishing a way to properly format new data ensures that no matter who is in charge of the database, it will pull down the proper data consistently and easily.
As the Secretary for the Omaha Press Club Foundation, Josh built a donor database in Salesforce using a combination of old spreadsheets. Having been established more than 40 years ago, the OPCF had a long list of donors and gift information that needed to be preserved and properly acknowledged. The database is now completed and used regularly to capture donor data.
